I’ve been doing keto for just over a week now, and I’m finding that I just don’t want the carbs… At all.
Give me the meats, fats, eggs, salmon and I’m happy. I think other than a few blueberries, and coffee, I haven’t had anything not meat-based in 3-4 days, and I’m feeling good.
YouTube then decided to fill my feed with videos on the ketovore, carnivore and lion diets. For anyone who doesn’t know, ketovore is mostly meat, but with a tiny (<10g) amount of carbs; carnivore is exactly what is sounds like, all meat and products from meat, like eggs, dairy, fish and seafood; lion is limited to meat from ruminant animals (cows, bison, elk, sheep) and water… Thats it.
So, I think I am inadvertently eating ketovore right now, and feel that moving towards a more carnivore lifestyle is the right move for me. Not sure if I’d ever go full lion, I love bacon too much for that, but only time will tell.
As for improvements in my health/weight, can’t say I’ve noticed anything yet. I know a lot of people have huge weigh loss in the first week, due to loosing all the water weight, but thats not been my experience so far. Obviously, I could be wrong, I don’t have a set of scales, but my clothes feel the same.
I have definitely been dealing with keto-flu, generally fatigued, a little headachy, congestion. My sleep was terrible the first 3-4 days, but has been improving since. Although, I could do without needing to pee in the middle of the night!
My poop (tmi! Sorry!) has started to improve. It’s definitely not as loose as it was, but from the research I’ve done (aka watching a ton of YouTube videos) its quite normal for this to come and go for the first few weeks, as your body gets used to the fat content of your meals.
Thinking of starting to video my journey, but I’m aware (from all of my ‘research’) of just how many YouTube channels there are… So I don’t know, haven’t decided. (Lol, just uploaded a video to my YouTube! https://youtu.be/xFl3_q6BWdc)
Anywho, I know I only posted a couple days ago, but figured an update was worth it.
